About The Position

This position is responsible for learning all aspects of a Production facility by working with the Team Members to learn how to promote a safe working environment and produce a quality product in a timely manner. Responsibilities include observing and learning how to ensure the area is running and producing at the greatest capacity possible while maintaining high quality. Will observe and learn how to work with Maintenance and other resources to ensure the equipment is working properly and meets government regulations and will learn to perform first aid when the nurse is not present. Will help the supervisors and our managers whenever called upon and perform any other duties as the need arises. Observing and learning the above duties will prepare the trainee for the responsibility of being a supervisor over a specific area as assigned. Trainee must understand the interactions between Accounting Human Resources Food Safety and Quality Assurance and Production.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in live swine production.
  • Complete knowledge of animal flow, processing, ventilation, feeding, and vaccination protocols.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must shower before entering the facility and may require multiple showers during the workday.
  • No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry.
  • Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any other porcine species.
  • Must follow the Company Animal Welfare Policy at all times.
  • Must use safe lifting techniques.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, talk, or hear.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Follow required safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment.
  • 6 attendance points or less.
  • No suspension on record in the last 12 months.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred.
