About The Position

ScienceLogic is seeking an Associate Observability Specialist to support the delivery, integration, and operational success of our observability and AI-driven monitoring solutions, including SkyarOne and Skylar AI. In this role, you will work closely with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams to help ensure reliable data ingestion, system visibility, and actionable insights across complex hybrid IT environments. This is an early-career, hands-on role ideal for someone looking to build expertise in observability, monitoring systems, and AI-driven operations. You will gain exposure to real-world infrastructure challenges while developing foundational skills in telemetry, integrations, and troubleshooting at scale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience (e.g., coursework, certifications, or technical projects).
  • 0–2 years of experience in IT operations, monitoring, support, or software systems, or demonstrated practical experience through internships, academic work, or personal projects.
  • Basic understanding of networking, operating systems, and cloud concepts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) is a plus.
  • Exposure to monitoring or observability tools preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining observability solutions for the Skylar AI platform.
  • Support data collection pipelines, including metrics, logs, events, and topology data.
  • Help validate compatibility across platform versions and integrations.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to monitoring, alerting, and data ingestion.
  • Analyze system behavior and assist in identifying anomalies or performance issues.
  • Work with APIs and integrations to connect external systems and data sources.
  • Contribute to documentation, including runbooks, integration guides, and support matrices.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to reproduce and diagnose issues.
  • Participate in testing and validation efforts for new releases and integrations.
  • Learn and apply observability best practices across metrics, logs, and traces.
