Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Monitored Bed Unit
About The Position
This role is for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager in the Monitored Bed Unit at Flinders and Upper North Local Health Network in Port Augusta. The position is part-time (0.53 FTE) and temporary, lasting until March 30, 2027. The base salary ranges from $107,487 to $114,917 per annum, pro rata. The role involves leading the delivery of high-quality patient care, supporting the Nurse Unit Manager in staffing, rostering, practice improvement, and operational activities. The Associate Nurse Unit Manager will also provide guidance and supervision to junior staff, contribute to a positive learning culture, and support quality improvement and clinical education initiatives.
Requirements
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with a current practising certificate.
- Minimum 3 years post-registration experience or currently classified as a Clinical Nurse/Midwife.
- Demonstrated competence in nursing practice.
- Experience supervising students and less experienced staff.
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs.
Responsibilities
- Provide proficient, person-centred nursing care.
- Support the leadership and coordination of the unit.
- Assist with staffing, rostering, practice improvement, and day-to-day operational activities.
- Provide guidance and supervision to less experienced staff.
- Contribute to a positive learning culture.
- Support quality improvement and clinical education initiatives within the unit.
