The Associate Nurse Manager acts as clinical manager for an assigned shift in the ICU unit. Provides support to the nurse manager in the planning, education, coordination, staffing, and supervision of nursing care delivery to ensure efficient and effective patient care. Ensures compliance with departmental and regulatory standards of care and practice and ensures that an adequate number of nursing personnel are scheduled and available to meet patient care needs. The Associate Nurse Manager, in collaboration with the Nurse Manager, will create an environment for staff participation in performance improvement activities that assures that the care of the particular patient population meets or exceeds institutional and regulatory standards. Works independently, requesting assistance when needed. Anticipates problems and works to solve them. Actively participates in all efforts to maintain a safe, clean environment.
