About The Position

The Associate, Non-Traditional ABS Origination will support ABS bankers in creating and developing business ideas across Non-Traditional asset classes. This role involves taking the lead in drafting initial client presentations and pitch book materials, incorporating feedback from junior and senior bankers. The Associate will also coordinate transaction execution with various third parties, review offering and transaction documents, and prepare sales memos and internal approval documents. Additionally, they will interact with internal and external parties to ensure seamless transaction execution and coordinate the settlement of Non-Traditional ABS transactions. Collaboration with internal teams on M&A and other strategic transactions where ABS plays a role, and maintenance of internal databases for market data are also key aspects of this position. The role also requires proactive identification of operational risks and deficiencies, compliance with Firm Policies, and timely escalation of identified issues.

Requirements

  • College graduate with history of strong academic performance
  • Series 7, 63 and 79 (will be required within a reasonable time after joining if not currently held)
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in the ABS space
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Ambition, eagerness and curiosity to learn

Responsibilities

  • Support ABS bankers in creating, developing and presenting business ideas across Non-Traditional asset classes.
  • Take lead in drafting initial versions of client presentations and pitch book materials and incorporating comments from junior and senior ABS bankers.
  • Coordinate transaction execution across third parties (issuers, lawyers, rating agencies, accountants, trustees, etc.).
  • Review offering and transaction documents, prepare sales memos and internal approval documents.
  • Interact with internal and external parties to ensure seamless execution on mandated transactions and coordinate the settlement of Non-Traditional ABS transactions.
  • Collaborate with junior and senior ABS bankers and other internal parties on M&A and other strategic transactions where ABS is expected to play a role.
  • Maintain internal databases of market data, including spreads/yields, deal pricing details, trading data, league tables, etc.
  • Proactively identify operational risks / control deficiencies in the business.
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities.
  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.
