About The Position

The M&A Associate plays a central role in the execution of predominantly sell-side transactions for middle-market clients, typically ranging from $50M–$350M in enterprise value. This position combines financial analysis, deal process management, and direct client interaction. The Associate works closely with both junior and senior bankers to drive transactions from initial pitch through closing. On the sell-side, Kroll works with family and founder owned businesses, private equity backed companies and subsidiaries of larger corporations to advise them through the sale process. On the buy-side, we guide clients through acquisitions and investments by helping them to structure and negotiate transactions. Requirements

  • (i) MBA with a minimum of 1 year prior experience in investment banking or (ii) Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of 3-4 years’ experience at a reputable boutique or regional investment bank with demonstrable M&A execution experience.
  • Strong interest in the financial services industry.
  • Ability to make effective decisions by analyzing information and considering priorities.
  • Proficient in MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated experience with managing of day to day aspects of client relationships and projects.
  • Current FINRA Series 79 & 63 certifications are required – no exceptions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in thought leadership and idea generation that helps represent diverse communities.
  • Ability to travel a minimum of 25% of the time on an regular basis.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and present financial information and complex strategic issues in a clear, concise and relevant manner to assist and guide decision-makers in M&A transactions.
  • Ensure quality of client deliverables by having a strong attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with, mentor and develop follow junior staff – particularly analysts.
  • Conducting industry research to understand our clients’ businesses and the environments they operate in.
  • Identify key trends that may affect them and their respective M&A processes
  • Individuals will be assigned a wide variety of projects and given as much responsibility as their experience and capabilities permit.
