About The Position
This role is a hands-on opportunity to learn end-to-end merchandising while helping evolve Walmart’s Hot Deli into a destination for fresh, affordable meals—owning items, suppliers, and performance in a high-impact, high-visibility category. You will manage a big business and be a true subject matter expert in your category, strategizing and choosing the assortment in stores and online.
Requirements
- 2 years’ experience in merchandising, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.
- Business and financial acumen – Ability to analyze sales, margin, costs, and item performance to make data-driven decisions that deliver value for customers and profitable growth for the category.
- Cross-functional and supplier collaboration – Capability to work effectively with suppliers and internal partners (operations, supply chain, food safety, marketing) to execute assortments, launches, and day-to-day business needs.
- Operational and executional discipline – Ability to manage multiple priorities, move quickly, and execute end-to-end merchandising processes with accuracy to ensure strategies land flawlessly in stores.

Responsibilities
- Support category ownership by managing item performance, costs, and supplier partnerships to deliver great quality, value, and in-stock for customers.
- Analyze and act on business trends across sales, margin, and customer insights to identify opportunities and drive category growth.
- Execute merchandising strategies end-to-end, including item launches, assortment changes, and operational readiness to ensure flawless store execution.
