Associate Merchandiser / Bilingual English & Mandarin Chinese
About The Position
The Associate Merchandiser is responsible for the management and planning of inventory. This person will analyze and adjust system forecasts based on daily review of product movement including seasonality, industry and market trends, and probability of anticipated sales. The Associate Merchandiser will work closely with the Merchandising/Design team, as well as Sales, to ensure the company maintains a healthy inventory. Requirements
- 2+ years of experience working with overseas factories or import business.
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin or Cantonese.
- Strong math and analytical skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and have the ability to learn new software quickly.
- Ability to type 35 wpm
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong sense of initiative – proven track record of solving problems.
- Strong sense of team and a desire to improve processes and help build a dynamic, unique organization.
- Strong follow-up skills.
- Excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Authorization to work in the US

Responsibilities
- Analyze and manage inventory data
- Manage demand forecasts, seasonal profiles and exceptions in the replenishment system
- Communicate with vendors to expedite orders, obtain pricing, schedule and follow up on delivery dates
- Assist in development of proper safety stock strategies
- Interpret and report forecast implications of phasing-in/out of items
- Work cross functionally to proactively manage aging inventory, slow moving items and discontinued items
- Coordinate purchases with other merchandise planners and buyers
- Manages new product development cycle
- Handle product quality control and claims
- Develop sales and profit margin plans
