About The Position

This role involves obtaining extensive knowledge of Skechers product lines for Distributor countries, supporting company objectives for growth and profitability in the International division. The position requires in-depth analysis and product knowledge to propose new ideas and opportunities for business growth. A strong understanding of different market needs is essential to successfully build assortments that drive sales in specific countries. The role also involves effectively communicating all product directives to key partners via various channels.

Requirements

  • Merchandising/Buying experience in footwear/apparel/accessories
  • Extensive product knowledge of a large volume of SKUs
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (including pivot tables and v-lookups)
  • Comfortable with presentations; present line at sales meetings and conferences with confidence and be able to react to questions with confidence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Demonstrate high level of quality work, well-organized with attention to details.
  • Build, maintain and grow exceptional relationships with internal cross functional partners and countries' team members.
  • Exceptional time management — owns timelines, balances competing deadlines across markets, and stays on schedule without prompting.
  • Self-prioritize in real time — especially when urgent, time-sensitive communications from international partners require immediate action.
  • Ability to pivot quickly when business needs shift, managing competing deadlines across different markets and time zones.
  • 4+ years of Merchandising experience with a large volume of skus.
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • International experience

Responsibilities

  • Become a product expert, managing and communicating product assortments, line sheets, inventory, and reviewing sales and sample orders for Distributor partners.
  • Determine when and how to react to best and worst sellers, and consistently monitor regions' order/sales status to identify missed opportunities on key styles and make recommendations to increase sales.
  • Present product lines with confidence and react to challenging questions during presentations.
  • Own product lines and brand initiatives, building and managing assortments relevant for each market.
  • Manage International partners to understand product availability, sales samples, sales trends, key initiatives, marketing strategies, and overall product direction.
  • Maintain line sheets/new adds/drops/reductions for each select country.
  • Attend monthly/quarterly conference meetings/calls with partners to discuss the current state of business and needs.
  • Review overall sales and understand what categories are achieving growth or losing sales.
  • Answer questions daily and communicate all product/business related information to each partner on a regular and timely basis, essential due to time differences in regions.
  • Review and analyze selling/bookings/shipments by country for product lines, reporting on business trends by category.
  • Continually review product assortments to ensure all key initiatives are represented and make educated recommendations for styles that can work within distributor's market.
  • Collaborate with other international merchandising/planning partners to maximize sales, partner on product opportunities, and manage projects.
  • Maintain/Run/Review various reports to provide appropriate analysis.
  • Initiate/Create reports by leveraging various data from internal systems.
  • Participate in KI product review meetings to curate corporate key initiative assortment twice a year.
  • Attend global product conference twice a year, acting as host, supporting during presentations and review sessions, and presenting the state of business for each country.
  • Collaborate and communicate with VP – GMM of International on special projects as needed.

  • The pay range for this role is $80,000-$90,000/yr USD
