About The Position

The Associate Medical Staff Coordinator assists with coordinating the scheduling of Licensed Independent Practitioners (LIP’s) employed by NEVHC. Because the Associate Medical Staff Coordinator has frequent contact with LIP’s and other professionals at NEVHC, this individual must consistently communicate, behave, and dress in a professional, courteous, self-confident and well-organized manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent is required.
  • Two years administrative assistant experience required (as medical staff coordinator desirable).
  • Able to prioritize and maintain adequate progress of work on assignments and projects.
  • Plan, organize, and complete work rapidly and efficiently.
  • Proofread written materials to identify errors in punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
  • Compose complex correspondence based on policy, protocols, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Keep complex records and prepare reports.
  • Interact with the public and providers, with tact, diplomacy, and poise.
  • Schedule meetings and conferences; coordinate appropriately with all parties.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.), electronic health record systems, and database systems. Computer use qualifications may require on-the-job training.
  • Sensitivity to the different cultures represented among members and staff.
  • Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate with others in a professional and caring manner including sensitivity with individuals from diverse cultures and lifestyles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the electronic health record database within three months of attending training session(s).
  • Fluency in English (speaks, read and write).
  • Current California driver’s license, appropriate insurance coverage and a driving record acceptable to the NEVHC’s insurance carrier (if required to drive on the job).

Nice To Haves

  • College-level education from an accredited institution or program (preferably a Medical Staff Services Sciences program) preferred; Associate degree or higher-level degree desirable.
