Centered in the heart of San Joaquin County, Adventist Health Lodi Memorial has been one of the area's leading healthcare providers since 1952. Job Summary: Guides the operations of the full continuum of care in all areas served within the assigned market. Serves as the physician leader in the market, with the role facilitating medical and clinical staff alignment and engagement, finance, and operations-related topics. Advocates to bring the clinical voice forward, being the patient advocate, acting as a subject matter expert for clinical staff and administration, and leading care transformation initiatives directed by clinical cabinets. Leads the roll out of local initiatives within the market and ensuring the overall continuous quality improvement of care delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public health or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
  • Medical license MD (MD) or Medical license DO (DO) or Physician and Surgeon G (PSG) or Physician and Surgeon C (PSC) or Physician and Surgeon A (MDA): Required
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or (DO): Required for state of practice within 6 months of hire or agreed upon timeline
  • Board Certified Physician: Required for state of practice within 6 months of hire or agreed upon timeline
  • State medical board licensed: Required for state of practice within 6 months of hire or agreed upon timeline
  • MD/DO Post Graduate Student (MD/DO-PG) or Physician and Surgeon G (PSG) or Physician and Surgeon C (PSC) or Physician and Surgeon A (MDA): Required

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in public health, healthcare administration or related discipline: Preferred
  • Seven years' experience as a practicing physician in hospital medicine, primary care or specialty medicine: Preferred
  • Five years' of progressively responsible management experience within a healthcare system or complex hospital environment: Preferred
  • Five years' leadership experience: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Guides the operations of the full continuum of care in all areas served within the assigned market.
  • Serves as the physician leader in the market, with the role facilitating medical and clinical staff alignment and engagement, finance, and operations-related topics.
  • Advocates to bring the clinical voice forward, being the patient advocate, acting as a subject matter expert for clinical staff and administration, and leading care transformation initiatives directed by clinical cabinets.
  • Leads the roll out of local initiatives within the market and ensuring the overall continuous quality improvement of care delivery.
  • Executes on clinical transformation plans around the 6 initiatives: clinical leadership, high reliability organization, care redesign, population health, patient experience/engagement and clinical workforce.
  • Leads efforts to roll-out the evidence-based standard of care, improve clinical outcomes, and disseminates best practices for the market in accordance with the care transformation initiatives.
  • Partners with the chief of staff, members of the medical executive committee, and the medical staff to assist them in their roles and to maximize the market's culture of patient safety and quality.
  • Acts as a primary clinician liaison to the assigned senior leadership team, Patient Safety and Quality related committees, and the community.
  • Facilitates physician leadership development and education.
  • Partners with market quality/patient safety staff in alignment with the broader AH strategy and goals.
  • Facilitates collegial and effective working relations with all clinicians (e.g., physicians, nurses, physician-assistants, advanced nurse practitioners, and other medical staff members).
  • Provides leadership to improve physician alignment and patient satisfaction.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
