About The Position

The Float Pool Medical Assistant travels to major campuses including Issaquah, Edmonds, Cherry Hill, First Hill, Ballard, and surrounding satellite clinics to provide flexible staffing support across Providence Swedish. This role supports multiple care teams within Primary Care, Pediatrics, Specialty Care, and Women’s Health while covering a variety of clinic schedules, including weekdays and weekends. Team members in this role receive premium travel pay of $2.50 per hour in addition to their base rate. The Float Pool Medical Assistant provides both clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient patient care and clinic operations across diverse care settings. This role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within different teams and workflows while delivering high-quality patient experience in fast-paced environments. Requirements

  • Coursework/Training and Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants OR Coursework/Training and Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program OR Coursework/Training and Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces OR Coursework/Training and Minimum one year of work experience as a medical assistant that includes the following clinical skills: obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration
  • Upon hire: Washington Medical Assistant Certification
  • Within 30 days of hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
  • Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months)

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months of prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast paced environment.
  • 6 months of previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR).
