About The Position

Join our team of talented professionals and become part of our exciting and cutting edge research team as an Associate Mechanical Technician! This position will support day-to-day sponsored impact testing research operations in the Impact Physics Laboratory.

Requirements

  • High-School Diploma.
  • Experience with basic hand tools.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree.
  • Knowledge of Solidworks or CAD software.
  • Familiar with the operation of milling machines and lathes.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to keep the lab clean and tidy.
  • Ability to follow test procedures and document results.
  • Ability to assist with fixture design and fabrication.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, execute, and document impact tests and test procedures for sponsored impact research projects.
  • Maintain test facility readiness, lab organization, and lab housekeeping.
  • Assist in target fixture design and fabrication.
