About The Position

The Associate Mechanical Engineer will provide design engineering support in a global environment for new product development (NPD), Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE), and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for developing mechanical designs, creating and maintaining CAD models and drawings, generating Bills of Materials (BOMs), and supporting engineering change processes. The position requires collaboration with cross-functional global teams while maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy, and adherence to established project management processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to innovative product development efforts while working with global engineering teams on leading-edge mechanical design projects. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience using SOLIDWORKS in a sheet metal design environment.
  • Strong experience in 3D modeling, detailing, and drawing creation using SOLIDWORKS.
  • Experience generating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Understanding of Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and change management processes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems such as Agile PLM or Oracle PD Cloud.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience designing telecom, data center, electrical, or industrial enclosures.
  • Experience managing large and complex CAD assemblies in SOLIDWORKS.
  • Experience with External Simplified Representation and large assembly performance optimization techniques.
  • Exposure to global engineering or cross-functional product development teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support New Product Development (NPD), VAVE, and product improvement projects.
  • Develop concept designs, detailed mechanical designs, and engineering solutions for sheet metal components and assemblies.
  • Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and documentation using SOLIDWORKS.
  • Generate and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs) and associated product structures.
  • Execute engineering change orders (ECOs) and support change management processes.
  • Prepare complete design packages, including 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver project objectives on time and within quality requirements.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while managing assigned project deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and organizational project management processes.
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
