About The Position

The Associate Materials Planner is responsible for supporting the Materials Planners by maintaining the accuracy of data in our ERP system. The Associate Materials Planner will own the systematic receiving process of all materials while working closely with co-mans and suppliers to ensure that orders are delivered at the expected location, time and quantity.

Requirements

  • BA/BS preferred.
  • 1+ years industry experience operating in an MRP environment in areas of inventory control, materials management, or distribution resource planning; preferably in the food or consumer packaged goods industry.
  • Knowledge of supply chain processes and planning systems,
  • Knowledgeable in Excel
  • Exceptional quantitative, analytical skills and problem-solving skills,

  • You'll spend a significant portion of your day working on a computer, reviewing data, creating reports, communicating with partners, and joining virtual and in-person meetings
  • This role requires frequent and ongoing use of a keyboard, mouse, phone, and other office technology
  • You'll regularly navigate multiple systems at once, analyze detailed information, and shift between competing priorities and deadlines
  • You'll communicate regularly with team members, cross-functional partners, external partners, and leaders through meetings, Outlook based email, messaging platforms such as Microsoft Teams, and presentations
  • Occasional movement around the office may be required for meetings, collaboration, and team activities
  • May occasionally lift or move office materials weighing up to 10 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Execute purchase orders and supplier schedules, including PO creation, ERP receipt, and ongoing delivery tracking against production needs
  • Serve as a key coordination point between suppliers and co-mans to ensure materials flow smoothly and suppliers adhere to releases
  • Monitor inventory levels and delivery status to identify risks (shortages, excess, aging inventory, past-due orders) and escalate as needed
  • Support production scheduling activities based on forecasts and direction from Supply Planners
  • Maintain accurate planning data (e.g., lead times, safety stock) and support inventory reconciliation, including investigating discrepancies
  • Coordinate issue resolution activities, including supplier delays, product returns, and material transfers across the network
  • Track and report key metrics (service levels, inventory targets), highlighting variances and supporting follow-ups with stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally (Supply Planning, Inventory, Quality, Operations) to support execution of supply plans
  • Material Planning for Powder Proteins going into Powder manufacturers in line with Contract fulfillment
  • Support planning activities for new product launches and transitions
  • Help coordinate timelines and track readiness across materials
  • Execute transition plans to minimize inventory risk, under guidance
  • Attending meetings and presentations
