About The Position

The Associate Marketing Manager for Canada is responsible for bringing the Greenstone Meats brand to life in the Canadian market. This includes building consumer demand, executing innovation launches, developing tools for Sales to succeed in retail and foodservice, and partnering with the Commercial Strategy Manager to translate consumer and market intelligence into action. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution, with a need to develop and implement brand campaigns, manage innovation timelines, and analyze consumer insights. The ideal candidate will understand the Canadian retail landscape, possess a curiosity about consumers, and thrive in a lean, fast-moving commercial environment.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of brand-side CPG marketing experience within food, protein, or a related consumer goods industry.
  • Experience on the brand side of marketing, understanding how brands are built, positioned, and activated in market.
  • Demonstrated experience managing packaging development, marketing materials, and agency relationships independently.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian retail landscape: key accounts, channel dynamics, and how marketing supports commercial conversations with buyers.
  • Execution-oriented with genuine commercial curiosity.
  • Strong project manager capable of handling multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Clear communicator, written and verbal.
  • Collaborative team player who builds positive relationships across Sales, Operations, QA, and external partners.
  • Comfortable operating in a lean, fast-paced environment where priorities shift and initiative are valued.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Comfortable with design coordination and digital asset management.
  • A genuine interest in food, consumers, and the stories behind what people buy and why.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with syndicated data tools such as Nielsen or Numerator.
  • Exposure to foodservice marketing or sales support.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the marketing calendar for owned brands, ensuring timely planning, briefing, and delivery of all brand activations.
  • Develop consumer-facing marketing content across digital, in-store, foodservice, and trade channels in partnership with agencies and the Marketing Director.
  • Manage day-to-day agency relationships for US market activations, including briefing, feedback, timelines, and delivery.
  • Ensure brand execution in the US market is consistent with established brand positioning and visual identity.
  • Monitor Canadian market trends and competitive activity, proactively sharing relevant observations with the team.
  • Support the end-to-end commercialization of new products for the Canadian market.
  • Own the Packaging Development phase, including briefing design partners, managing revision cycles, coordinating regulatory and QA reviews, and ensuring production-ready files are delivered on time.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Supply Chain, and Production to ensure new products are launched with appropriate tools, materials, and customer support.
  • Track innovation performance post-launch and provide feedback to the pipeline.
  • Develop marketing inputs for Canada customer conversations, such as brand sell sheets, promotional mechanics, category fact sheets, and product-specific content for Sales.
  • Partner with the Commercial Strategy Manager to ensure all customer-facing tools are grounded in consumer and category data.
  • Support the development of marketing materials for US foodservice customers, including operator-facing content, culinary positioning, and channel-specific tools.
  • Manage all Canada POS materials and marketing collateral, ensuring they are current and on-brand.
  • Support digital shelf content management and retailer media coordination for key Canada accounts.
  • Develop familiarity with the company’s data ecosystem (Circana, Numerator, etc.) and learn to pull and interpret market-relevant data.
  • Apply consumer and shopper research to brand and campaign decisions.
  • Partner with the Commercial Strategy Manager on consumer insights initiatives.
  • Bring a consumer-first perspective to innovation and campaign conversations.
  • Track marketing spend against budget at the project level, ensuring timely vendor payments, flagging variances, and maintaining accurate spend records.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with reliability and attention to detail.
  • Communicate progress and flag risks proactively.
