About The Position

Lazard is seeking a Market Data Specialist to join the Global Information Services (GIS) function. This person will be responsible for the procurement and enablement of market data and research tools for the firm. Responsibilities include partnering directly with bankers, coordinating stakeholders and other support teams, managing a portfolio of vendors across different geographies, negotiating new and existing vendor contracts, identifying savings opportunities, and supporting regular business reviews to ensure operational continuity.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of work experience managing market data, external content, or online database portfolios in a financial services environment
  • Experience with core financial data platforms (FactSet, S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Refinitiv/LSEG, PitchBook, etc.)
  • Awareness of AI-powered features being embedded across major data platforms, and the ability to assess licensing and use-case implications
  • A self-starter mindset, and be capable of managing competing priorities while delivering accurate work in a timely manner with minimal oversight
  • Proven ability to negotiate and influence complex vendor conversations both internally and externally to drive successful outcomes for the firm
  • A working knowledge of data governance principles, entitlements management, and licensing compliance in an investment banking or advisory context
  • Familiarity with cross-border licensing requirements, applicable to European operations

Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle of market data agreements
  • Add meaningful value by making existing tools, content, and relationships work harder and smarter for the business
  • Cultivate strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors to manage global market data subscriptions and specialty product needs
  • Evaluate emerging data products and AI-enabled platform features, assessing licensing implications and suitability for the Financial Advisory workflow
  • Identify and remediate risk issues in partnership with legal, compliance, and technology teams to ensure data licenses are fit for use
  • Participate in budgeting, allocation, and forecasting processes
