This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes. The Associate II, Manufacturing Science & Technology Engineering (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating new production materials, equipment, and technologies before mass production. You will conduct research, solve production cost and quality issues, and develop standard procedures to support efficient production processes and project goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +8 yrs; Assoc.+4 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English

Responsibilities

  • Manage individual technical quality management projects within manufacturing and distribution processes, applying specialized knowledge to achieve objectives and drive innovation
  • Make operational decisions impacting project performance and innovation, requiring project management skills, technical expertise, and problem-solving abilities
  • Monitor product quality at different stages, detect and resolve non-conformance promptly, and maintain relevant documentation and records
  • Apply scientific and engineering principles to solve problems and innovate, staying current with advances in the field
  • Take an agile approach to problem-solving by testing, iterating, and refining solutions
  • Adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, and ensuring rigorous quality control
  • Complete all required training and contribute to the overall compliance of the organization
  • Commit to continuous improvement and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve systems issues related to manufacturing systems, ERP, BI/SAC reports, RPA automation processes
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel, providing technical advice and resolution of problems to ensure project progresses within prescribed parameters
  • Provide Training regarding ERP/RPA/BI and SAC: Installation and implementing sophisticated computerized ERP, RPA automation processes. Training and development objectives to maintain leading edge understanding of the technologies available in the ERP, RPA automation functions.
  • Facilitate and attend meetings relating to data set-up and issues
  • Assess and act on issues arising from improper data set-up or user error
  • Facilitate and troubleshoot movement of materials from Incoming inspection through DC shipment
  • Manage application SOPs for master data governance.
  • Collaboration with the business and other teams to identify and analyze continuous process improvements
  • Generate ERP/SAC/BI reports to support the Business (investigations, escalations, market actions, etc.)
  • Lead master data improvements
  • Act as the site single point of contact (SPOC) for ERP improvements between the site and Corporate/SAP team
