About The Position

L3Harris Technologies is seeking an Associate, Manufacturing Engineer at the L3 Harris Missile Solutions Segment’s Orange, VA site. This site is a center of excellence for Solid Rocket Motor Propulsion and Energetics development as well as high-complexity production programs. The role involves working under general supervision and mentors, performing manufacturing engineering assignments that require foundational knowledge and understanding of core principles, theories, and concepts in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior manufacturing engineering experience, or a minimum of 4 years of prior manufacturing engineering experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Foundational knowledge and understanding of core principles, theories, and concepts in manufacturing engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Support modernization and automation of production facilities.
  • Support defect identification, resolution, and root cause investigations.
  • Support Statistical Process Control (SPC) monitoring.
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain and develop detailed process instructions based upon technical drawings and specifications.
  • Develop Process Failure Mode Effects Analyses (PFMEAs).
  • Develop Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOMs).
  • Develop Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs).
  • Develop Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
  • Demonstrate process ownership of established manufacturing activities by utilizing systematic tools to determine root cause, implement process improvements to increase operating efficiency, and ensure process conformance to safety and quality standards.
  • Support process tooling development, design reviews, implementation into manufacturing processes, and required safety reviews.
  • Support energetic assembly and manufacturing operations.
