About The Position

Plan, identify, oversee the layout of equipment, and implement processes aimed at improving the overall efficiency of the plant operations. Conduct studies in operations to maximize workflow and spatial utilization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree – Plastics Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Entry level with prior plastics manufacturing internship
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience using automation to improve process and flow
  • Safety sensitive position - ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
  • Ability to handle the stress of working with others and be available outside of normal work hours.
  • Ability to design, plan, and execute testing strategies and tactics to ensure product quality at all stages of manufacturing.
  • Ability to apply technical, scientific, and mathematical knowledge to design and implement materials, structures, machines, devices, systems and processes that safely realize a desired objective.
  • Knowledge of existing and planned approaches for methods for manufacturing products or product components.
  • Knowledge of methodologies, tools, and techniques for designing, building and managing the manufacture of new tools.
  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, considerations and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of the employees, environment and site.
  • Travel Requirements Up to 25%.
  • Valid driver's license required/Motor Vehicle report required

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of process technology in the plant to minimize variation and optimize the manufacturing of products, workflow, cell design, & plant layout while reducing costs and removing bottlenecks.
  • Optimize efficiency by analyzing the layout of equipment, cell design, plant layout, workflow, assembly methods and work force utilization and removing bottlenecks.
  • Support the technical teams in finding root cause analysis for equipment downtime.
  • Provide technical skill, knowledge and judgment as it relates to the quality of product being produced.
  • Provide technical input and support in the advancement of equipment and tools.
  • Support manufacturing regarding quality and cost.
  • Facilitate and execute continuous improvement activities.
  • Conduct time studies to optimize production capabilities.
  • Support plant capital improvement projects.
  • Support mold move process as a technical resource for internal plants and contract molders.
  • Other duties as assigned.
