About The Position

The Associate Manager has responsibility for assisting with the daily operation of the Lilly Pulitzer retail store. This includes sales, serving the customer, and safeguarding the assets of the store. The role requires understanding the overall concept of Lilly Pulitzer, including the lifestyle, the customer, the merchandise, and the heritage. The Associate Manager will assist the Store Manager in achieving the net sales plan, maintaining a high level of sales, and building the skills of the team. Key duties involve presenting and selling merchandise consistent with the brand, greeting customers, providing sales assistance, understanding and stocking merchandise, suggesting merchandise to customers, building a personal client book, and effectively using the EREG POS software system for various transactions and store operations. The Associate Manager must also understand and implement daily staff plans in the absence of management, safeguard store assets, maintain inventory integrity, prevent shrink, assist with inventory counts, and provide sales reports. They will operate the store in accordance with company policies and procedures and provide ideas for business growth and improvement.

Requirements

  • Understand Lilly Pulitzer and have a genuine enthusiasm and interest for the concept, the customer and the merchandise.
  • Sufficient fashion credibility to sell merchandise to customers.
  • Initiative and self-assurance to approach and sell customers comfortably.
  • High level of dedication, commitment and initiative to operate a store dependably and with minimal supervision or direction.
  • Flexibility of schedule to accommodate the hours typical of a retail store employee.
  • Ability and comfort level to operate with an automated point of sale system.
  • Ability and drive to motivate and lead a retail staff.
  • Detail orientation necessary to safeguard the assets of the store, including cash reconciliation and inventory management.
  • Demonstrate potential ability to be promoted to the Store Manager position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the daily operation of the Lilly Pulitzer retail store, including sales, customer service, and safeguarding assets.
  • Understand the Lilly Pulitzer brand concept, lifestyle, customer, merchandise, and heritage.
  • Assist the Store Manager in achieving the net sales plan and maintain a high level of sales as a role model.
  • Assist in building the skills of the team as determined by the Store Manager.
  • Present and sell merchandise consistent with the brand.
  • Greet each customer and provide sales assistance to sell merchandise.
  • Understand merchandise and planned receipts to stock and present new receipts on the floor timely.
  • Know the merchandise on the floor and suggest merchandise to customers.
  • Provide suggestions to management for merchandising improvements.
  • Build a personal client book.
  • Effectively use the EREG POS software system for routine register transactions, inventory receivings and transfers, and opening/closing registers and the store.
  • Troubleshoot the EREG POS system in the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager.
  • Understand daily staff plans to implement them in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Safeguard the assets of the store.
  • Maintain the integrity of the inventory and prevent inventory shrink.
  • Assist in performing cycle counts and year-end comprehensive physical inventory.
  • Provide daily reports of sales, transactions, and sales by style as requested.
  • Operate the store consistently with prescribed company policies and procedures.
  • Provide ideas to grow and improve the business, including merchandising, staffing, floor displays, store fixturing, advertising, promotion, and hours of operation.
