Associate Manager, Skincare Product Development
About The Position
We are seeking a highly organized, creative, and execution-focused Associate Manager, Skincare Product Development to support the development and launch of innovative skincare products across our growing portfolio. This role will partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations, Regulatory, Packaging, Creative, and external manufacturing partners to bring products from concept through commercialization. The ideal candidate has experience in beauty or personal care product development, a strong understanding of skincare trends and formulations, and thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Marketing, Business, or related field
- 3–5+ years of product development experience in skincare, beauty, or personal care
- Strong understanding of skincare formulations, ingredients, and manufacturing processes
- Experience working with contract manufacturers and external vendors
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Detail-oriented with a passion for beauty and consumer products
Nice To Haves
- Experience in masstige beauty brands
- Familiarity with regulatory and claims requirements in the beauty industry
- Experience with Amazon, DTC, or omnichannel beauty brands
- Passion for skincare trends, ingredient innovation, and consumer behavior
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end product development process from concept through launch
- Partner with contract manufacturers and labs to develop innovative skincare formulas aligned with brand positioning and performance goals
- Coordinate product briefs, timelines, samples, testing, claims support, and commercialization activities
- Lead formula benchmarking, product evaluations, and competitive analysis
- Collaborate closely with Marketing to identify market trends, whitespace opportunities, and consumer insights
- Work cross-functionally with Packaging, Creative, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Operations teams to ensure timely execution
- Track development milestones and proactively manage timelines, risks, and deliverables
- Support claims substantiation, product testing, and regulatory documentation
- Maintain product specifications, documentation, and development records
- Stay current on skincare ingredients, innovation trends, and emerging technologies
