About The Position

The Associate Product Manager (APM) is a key contributor to the Product Management team, responsible for supporting and leading cross-functional efforts in the planning, execution, and analysis of various business initiatives. This role functions as a general management position with profit and loss (P&L) responsibility and includes the development of strategic business and marketing plans to achieve corporate and product volume, profit, and market share objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Product Manager in achieving volume and profit objectives for assigned categories, aligned with overall corporate goals.
  • Execute business plans seamlessly to deliver against category financial and market share objectives.
  • Monitor performance metrics to ensure categories are tracking against goals and recommend or implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Analyze data to identify insights and translate them into business initiatives and actionable strategies to drive results.
  • Lead and participate in the development and execution of product and packaging design plans, including: Concept development, Feasibility validation, Product and packaging R&D, Business proposals and approvals, Project execution, Customer sell-in, Tracking in-market performance.
  • Participate in monthly volume forecasting for assigned categories by coordinating between demand and supply planning to ensure best-in-class forecast accuracy.
  • Implement product specification changes and monitor production, inventory, and packaging levels of key items.
  • Manage customer calendars to ensure all due dates and deliverables are met.
  • Develop a strong understanding of company systems and processes, as well as customer packaging development systems.
  • Engage and lead cross-functional teams on assigned projects.
  • Participate in customer sales calls and meetings.
  • Monitor industry trends, market share, and competitive activity.
  • Collaborate closely with Customer Marketing to develop category selling tools and execute promotional initiatives and sales communications.
  • Partner with customer business teams to develop and execute customer plans, including product and packaging development and in-market performance tracking.
  • Work closely with the sales organization to understand and integrate customer strategies into business and brand plans.
  • Collaborate proactively with Sales Strategy and Planning teams to ensure forecast accuracy, maximize opportunities, and develop plans to achieve objectives.
