About The Position

The Funlab Community Liaison/Recruiter plays a vital role in Funlab’s Design Research initiatives. While the primary focus is sourcing, vetting, and recruiting highly specific consumer audiences that align with research objectives, ensuring participants meet strict demographic and psychographic criteria. The position manages recruitment for complex, high-priority toy, game, concept exploratory, app usability projects with tight timelines while maintaining a proprietary participant database for ongoing and future needs. Additionally, they provide valuable insights to refine recruitment strategies and enhance study outcomes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring Funlab’s success in consumer Design Research by building robust, diverse panels and delivering high-quality recruitment experiences. By connecting Funlab with voices across all audience segments, this role directly contributes to innovative product development and enhanced consumer engagement.

  • Advanced computer skills – for tech checks, technical proficiencies in PowerPoint, Excel & Word, social media, Teams, AI support tools
  • Organization & Project Management: exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple recruitment efforts simultaneously. Strong attention to detail to ensure timely and accurate panel management
  • Problem Solving– creative approach to resolving recruitment challenges and identifying quality participants.
  • Cultural Sensitivity – demonstrates cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse participants groups

Responsibilities

  • Strategically expand Funlab’s multi-audience panel, encompassing children, families, adults, tweens, teens, FANS and specialty audiences.
  • Identify innovative ways to reach and engage diverse participant groups, leveraging community partnerships, events, and social media platforms.
  • Build and maintain an organized, up-to-date database of participants, ensuring accurate segmentation for targeted research needs.
  • Actively engage with FANLAB’s community of hardcore fans for Haslab projects (GI Joe, SW, TF, Ghostbusters, fashion Doll collectors, etc.), Casual Fans, Strategy Gamers, and more).
  • Create incentive programs and manage rewards to maintain enthusiasm and commitment from panel members.
  • Support recruitment for Design Research Projects, including toys, games, app usability, concept ideation sessions.
  • Handle participant logistics: screening, scheduling, consent forms, confirmations, and stakeholder communication.
  • Coordinate recruitment timelines to meet project deadlines and ensure quality participant placements.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating sample sizes of 15-30+ respondents for each project.
  • Proficient in database management, video equipment operation, and virtual tools like Teams & Zoom Calls.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to improve recruitment approaches and overall study quality using AI supported tools for Automated Text Reminders and SMS Integration.
  • Conduct tech checks with participants, ensuring readiness for Virtual Sessions.
  • Manage streaming platforms (e.g., Teams, Zoom), virtual backroom chats, and video setup during live Funlab research sessions.
  • Collaborate with Funlab management, brand teams, and moderators to align on project objectives and session roles.
  • Support recruitment for varied research approaches (in-home testing, shop-alongs, on-site testing, survey, virtual research).
  • Assist with session facilitation by operating video and recording equipment to accurately capture key moments and insights.
  • Support baseline observational research studies focused on age grading, ergonomics, play patterns, and product functionality, including facilitating sessions and delivering clear, concise, actionable research reports.
  • Oversee the distribution of incentives to panel members, tailored to the needs of each participant group, from children to adults.
