Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in fund accounting, with a strong understanding of various investment vehicles (e.g., hedge funds, private equity, mutual funds)
  • Proven knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in fund accounting software (e.g., Advent Geneva, Sungard Investran, SS&C HiPortfolio) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CFA designation is a plus
  • 1+ year of experience in a supervisory or team lead role preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and/or review of daily, weekly, and monthly NAV (Net Asset Value) calculations for assigned funds, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and client agreements
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting records.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, investor reports, and other ad-hoc reporting for clients
  • Act as a primary point of contact for client inquiries and maintain strong client relationships
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, legal, and compliance, to resolve issues and optimize processes
  • Participate in the onboarding of new clients and funds, ensuring smooth transitions and accurate setup
  • Assist in the development and implementation of best practices and process improvements within the fund accounting department
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures
  • Support audit requests and provide necessary documentation to external auditors
