About The Position

GlobalFoundries Fab 9 is seeking skilled and motivated candidates to participate in the GlobalFoundries Maintenance Technician Program with Vermont Technical College. This program offers a unique combination of on-the-job training, internal technician skill-based courses, and academic learning at Vermont Technical College. Successful candidates will work full-time while attending one Vermont Technical College course per semester for 3 semesters per year. GlobalFoundries will cover the costs for all 7 Vermont Technical College Technical Courses. Upon successful completion and satisfactory performance, participants will receive a certificate and approximately 23 credits towards a 2-year Associates Degree in General Engineering. Further educational opportunities are available through GlobalFoundries' Tuition Reimbursement Program. The role involves performing preventive and first call maintenance on semiconductor equipment and its support systems, executing Quality Standard Work, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts to enhance equipment productivity. Flexibility and dependability are essential to meet business demands. This position is located in the 200mm factory in Essex Jct., Vermont, and operates on a compressed 12-hour shift schedule, which may be day or night depending on business needs. GlobalFoundries operates 24/7, requiring technician support across all shifts. Successful Manufacturing Technicians are self-motivated, work effectively individually and in teams, and demonstrate flexibility in assignments, work content, and work area.

Requirements

  • High School Education or equivalent, or High School Tech Center Education
  • Fluent in English Language – written & verbal
  • Able to perform shift work on a 12 hours per shift schedule
  • Able to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocol/requirements
  • Able to wear all required clean room protective clothing and equipment for normal 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)
  • Ability to perform work in a standing position for the majority of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)
  • Able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift (preventive maintenance) and/or process issues
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screen
