About The Position

We are seeking a Global Macro Associate to join our Washington, DC office. This is an entry-level role (1–3 years of experience) designed for a recent undergraduate or graduate degree recipient who is eager to be trained in political risk analysis and to support a fast-paced, investor-relevant research agenda. The Associate will serve as a “utility infielder” across the Global Macro and Research Management teams—supporting core research production, drafting first-pass analysis, and ensuring strong analytical operations and execution. This position will report to Marc Gustafson, Senior Director of Analysis, and will work closely with analysts and management stakeholders to translate global political and macroeconomic trends into what matters for investors. This role is primarily internal and will have no travel requirement.

  • Strong familiarity with global politics; fluency in economic and market concepts preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate global trends into investor-relevant implications.
  • Intellectual curiosity and creativity, with a willingness to take initiative and “get hands dirty” on longer-term projects with light supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; comfortable managing multiple workstreams and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with data analysis or data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
