About The Position

SCA is seeking a Legal Operations & Technology Associate to modernize and transform the delivery of legal services across the Legal, Ethics & Trust Department. This role will support initiatives involving legal technology, generative AI, workflow automation, knowledge management, process improvement, and operational analytics. The Associate will report to SCA’s General Counsel and will work closely with the department’s AI Change Leader. The ideal candidate is curious, technology-forward, highly organized, and excited to explore practical ways to use approved technology and AI tools responsibly.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree.
3-6 years of experience in legal operations, legal technology, information systems, or project management.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment while exercising sound judgment and discretion with confidential information.
Experience with AI, data analytics, and/or workflow automation tools.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365, including Copilot, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and related productivity tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with attorneys, business partners, vendors, and technology teams.

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a corporate legal department, law firm, consulting environment, or technology-focused business function.
Familiarity with legal technology platforms such as Adobe eSign, e-billing, and CLM systems.
Experience supporting technology implementation, process improvement, digital transformation, or change management initiatives.
Interest in legal innovation, legal service delivery, knowledge management, and responsible AI implementation.

Responsibilities

Support the department's legal technology and AI roadmap, including initiatives involving workflow automation, knowledge management, contract management, and other legal technology solutions.
Identify practical opportunities for evaluation, implementation, testing, training, documentation, and adoption of legal technology platforms and AI-enabled solutions to improve productivity and enhance legal service delivery.
Help develop and maintain prompts, playbooks, knowledge repositories, and user guidance to support effective and responsible use of approved AI tools.
Monitor emerging legal technology trends and recommend practical applications aligned with SCA business objectives, compliance requirements, and responsible AI principles.
Analyze legal workflows and recommend improvements that increase efficiency, visibility, consistency, and scalability.
Support process automation initiatives across the department, including legal service intake, matter tracking, contract workflows, and knowledge management, and help drive adoption of new ways of working through training and user support.
Develop metrics and reports that help department leadership evaluate performance, track adoption, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Help maintain department resources, templates, playbooks, policies, training materials, and other knowledge management assets.
Coordinate with legal and cross-functional business stakeholders on operational and technology initiatives.
Support new systems, tools, and process changes through project coordination, communication, documentation, and change management activities.
Support special projects at the direction of the General Counsel, including significant departmental and company initiatives and events that require strong coordination, planning, and communication.
