About The Position

The Associate Laboratory Operations Technician for Lumigen, a subsidiary of Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, assists in formulating chemiluminescent reagents for clinical diagnostic testing and in synthesizing, purifying, and analyzing organic molecules. The role works with chemists to produce formulations in quantities ranging from less than one liter to multiple thousands of liters, and performs performance testing of completed formulations in accordance with written procedures. It also supports organic molecule synthesis and purification, conducts analytical testing according to written procedures, and maintains inventory, reagents, and other laboratory consumables. The position is part of the Lumigen Production Department in Southfield, Michigan, reports to the Manager Reagent Manufacturing, and is on-site. Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is a global clinical diagnostics company whose solutions are used in hospitals, reference and research laboratories, and physician offices.

Requirements

Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Science or a related field.
0+ years of experience.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. and climb stairs and ladders.
Ability to maintain batch record keeping to ISO 9001 standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical thinking and ability to multitask effectively.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, or production setting.
Experience in mechanical or technical work.

Responsibilities

Assist in formulating chemiluminescent reagents for clinical diagnostic testing.
