About The Position

LyondellBasell’s Cincinnati Technology Center is seeking an Analytical Lab Associate in the polymer characterization laboratory. The primary functions include conducting various analytical tests using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) and other techniques to analyze the chemical composition of polymers. They are responsible for preparing samples, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment, and meticulously recording and interpreting data. Additionally, they collaborate with other teams to develop new products and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Their work is essential in advancing the company's innovation and maintaining product excellence.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, or a related technical field preferably with experience in an R&D, manufacturing, or industrial laboratory.
  • Experience in High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) is desirable however a broad range of experiences would be considered (e.g. Gas Chromatography, Gel Permeation Chromatography).
  • Highly resourceful, initiative-taking individual focused on providing high quality laboratory data in an efficient manner, while exhibiting excellent workplace skills.
  • Solid background in Microsoft Office and computer-based instrument control systems for analytical equipment (e.g. Chromeleon).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to make competent, independent, decisions in a timely manner to ensure excellent progress on assigned tasks
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple and or changing priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Must possess the ability to interact effectively and professionally with internal customers, external customers and vendors.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor’s degree in chemistry is preferred with 0-5 years relevant experience.
