About The Position

The Associate, Investment Banking will support public finance and infrastructure finance activities, with exposure to bond transactions from initial development through closing and post-issuance compliance. The Associate will work closely with senior investment banking professionals, clients, bond counsel, underwriters, government agencies, and internal stakeholders in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This is a broad-based role offering the opportunity to develop expertise across transaction execution, client service, compliance, infrastructure finance, and business development. The Associate will play an important role in coordinating complex transactions and projects while gaining exposure to a range of public finance programs, stakeholders, and market activities.

Requirements

  • Recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Business Administration, Public Policy, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest in bond finance, real estate finance, commercial lending, municipal finance, investment banking, community development finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Copilot.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with financial modeling or underwriting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of or demonstrated interest in tax-exempt bond financing and public-purpose financing programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support bond transactions by assisting with financing proposals, committee materials, transaction timelines, distribution lists, closing activities, and client meetings.
  • Coordinate transaction-related deadlines, public hearings, community notices, and required submissions to state and government agencies.
  • Maintain transaction, closing, and database records and prepare reports and analyses for management.
  • Manage post-issuance requirements, including borrower compliance, regulatory filings, IRS correspondence, and annual reporting.
  • Support infrastructure finance activities, including RFPs, procurements, contracts, purchase orders, reimbursements, and ongoing project costs.
  • Maintain approved vendor and professional service provider lists and assist with requests for qualifications and proposals.
  • Develop and maintain presentation materials and support client, board, committee, and other external meetings and events.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and department leadership on outreach initiatives, presentations, conferences, and other business development activities.
  • Conduct research and support special projects, including program guidelines, marketing materials, department policies and procedures, and management reports.
  • Provide ongoing analytical and administrative support to the investment banking team, including industry news monitoring, reporting, and coverage for key department activities.
