About The Position

The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) works with political leaders globally to drive change by advising on strategy, policy, and delivery, and leveraging technology. They aim to help governments turn bold ideas into reality, fostering more open, inclusive, and prosperous countries. TBI operates as a global team of over 800 professionals in more than 40 countries, tackling significant global challenges. This specific role, the Associate Intern, will support the Americas team in delivering advisory work across Latin America and the Caribbean. It offers exposure to policy research, government advisory, project management, and business development, including supporting country teams, conducting analysis, preparing written materials, and contributing to regional growth. The internship provides hands-on experience with governments and senior leaders in a fast-paced, international setting.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's degree program (or equivalent graduate-level studies).
  • Based in the Washington, DC area.
  • Existing authorization to work in the United States.
  • Unable to provide visa sponsorship or work permit support for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality research and analysis to support advisory work with governments across the Americas.
  • Support scoping teams in assessing potential opportunities for TBI engagement with new governments and senior leaders in the region.
  • Produce research and analysis to inform regional strategy, growth, and expansion efforts.
  • Develop written outputs, including briefing notes, memos, presentations, and background research for internal and external use.
  • Support project teams with planning, coordination, and tracking activities and deliverables.
  • Develop tools and systems to support effective program management and delivery (e.g., dashboards, trackers, frameworks).
  • Contribute to policy research across priority thematic areas relevant to the Americas region.
  • Engage with colleagues across TBI’s global network, collaborating across teams and disciplines.
  • Support meetings, workshops, events, and roundtables with government counterparts and partners.
  • Other duties as assigned.
