About The Position

A unique opportunity for someone interested in the client service side of investment management at an established and growing global Institutional Distribution business. The role supports the functional areas of Institutional Client Services and contributes to the overall success of the Portfolio Management team, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. The individual also ensures that all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required, preferably in Business, Finance or related discipline.
  • 1-3 years financial services industry experience in Institutional investment management or other relevant functional area.
  • Willingness to enroll in the CFA program and/or the CIM designation.
  • Bilingualism required (French and English).
  • Good multi-tasking, planning, organizational and time-management skills.
  • Self-motivated, confident and capable of working both independently and in a team environment, prioritizing workload and seeking support when appropriate.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite of applications, databases and related systems and software applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Sharepoint and Excel knowledge is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader firm’s relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Prepare and coordinate account opening and client profile update documents.
  • Model, rebalance and generate transactions for portfolio managers to review.
  • Verify the impact of Portfolio transactions before they are executed.
  • Liaise with internal equity and fixed income traders.
  • Review client investment policies.
  • Support CSAs
  • Provide analytical support for sales and marketing activities.
  • Prepare presentations to clients and prospects as requested by portfolio managers.
  • Prepare and verify compliance reports.
  • Analyze the performance of investments.
  • Customize monthly and quarterly reports for clients.
  • Possibility in the medium term to assume additional responsibilities in a more direct relationship with customers.
  • Understand how JFL’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with the firm’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
