About The Position

The Capital Markets arm of CIBC provides corporate, government and institutional clients with innovative solutions to help them raise capital and grow and invest actively throughout North America and key financial centres around the world. Requirements

  • Degree/diploma in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Economics or Math.
  • Excellent knowledge of PC applications (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Programming, automation, and AI skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to deal effectively with internal and external clients.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Ability to complete and explain detailed financial and statistical analysis.
  • Strong multi-tasking and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in the capital markets industry through school courses, clubs and/or related work experience.

Nice To Haves

  • University degree in Engineering, Commerce, Finance, Economics or Math.
  • Experience in the Accounting/Finance industry.
  • Previous Capital markets experience.
  • Work experience or background in the technology sector.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Research Analyst covering the Information Technology sector to conduct company and industry research, analyze trends, and develop a strong understanding of financial markets, financial statements and valuation drivers.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance financial models, databases, and other analytical tools to support research coverage and investment insights.
  • Contribute to the preparation of company reports, thematic research, and written commentary that is clear, accurate, and relevant for institutional clients.
  • Participate in calls, meetings, and industry events with public company management teams, and collaborate with Sales, Trading, Investment Banking, and clients as needed to support the research franchise.
