About The Position

Under the direction of the Manager Inside Sales Supplies, this position is responsible as a key member of the Brodart sales team to promote the sale of Supplies product line, primarily by performing direct telephone sales calls, emails and mailings. Research customers and prospects to determine, annual revenue, past purchasing habits, potential business needs before contacting the client. Placing phone calls to specified accounts in the Public, School and Academic Library markets as directed from assigned territories, referrals, project call lists or marketing campaigns. Track outcomes and follow up on all leads as appropriate. Research new sales opportunities with the use of mailing lists, trade show leads, historical data with no current sales, etc. Follow up after the sale. Participate in virtual meetings with customers/prospects to familiarize them with a product being requested. Handle incoming calls and emails to provide assistance to prospects and customers. Provide assistance to other members of the sales team as needed.

Requirements

  • High School education and/or GED equivalent.
  • One to three years of experience in sales.
  • Ability to set and attain goals.
  • Possess a willingness to learn.
  • Positive customer-driven attitude.
  • Ability to listen carefully to the needs and wants of the customer/prospect.
  • Use persuasion techniques to get the customer interested and make the sale.
  • Demonstrate inside/telephone sales skill.
  • Excellent telephone manner.
  • Willingness to spend up to 70% of time on the phone.
  • Competitive with high standards of accountability.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt to change and versatile.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with difficult people and effectively resolve customer problems and issues with tact and diplomacy.
  • Good mathematical, analytical and problem solving skills.
