About The Position

Santa Rosa Behavioral Healthcare Hospital (SRBHH), formerly Aurora Santa Rosa Hospital, opened in 2016 and is an integral part of the greater Santa Rosa and Northern California mental health system of care. Located in the North Bay, SRBHH has 144 acute psychiatric inpatient beds and serves adolescents and adults with mental health conditions and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse conditions. The Associate Inpatient Therapist provides quality psychotherapeutic services for a unit-based caseload of adults and/or adolescents, supports other departmental needs, and serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team. They are the lead facilitator of the patient’s treatment plan, continuously monitor its implementation, and maintain knowledge of potential occupational health hazards.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or closely related field.
  • One year of behavioral health experience.
  • Experience working with Severely Mentally Ill and Group Facilitation preferred.
  • Current Associate registration for AMFT, ASW, or APCC license in good standing with the California BBS, or PsyD in good standing with BOP.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required, or obtained within initial orientation period.
  • Verbal de-escalation and physical intervention program as approved by the CNO.
  • Maintains confidentiality of patients at all times.
  • Sensitivity to and willingness to interact with persons of various social, cultural, economic and educational backgrounds.
  • Proficiency with software and/or equipment (Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.)
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good judgment, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

  • Completes initial psychosocial assessment and clinical documentation within 72 hours of patient's admission to the hospital.
  • Ensures compliance with all treatment plan requirements including weekly reviews and updates with the patient.
  • Consistently documents treatment, interventions, face-to-face contact and collateral information provided to patient in the medical record based on clinical scope of practice.
  • Facilitates psychoeducation and process groups and follows the hospital schedule promptly, completing individualized group notes.
  • Completes all reports for Tarasoff and suspected abuse as legally mandated and consistently informs Social Services Leadership.
  • Conducts family sessions for adolescents and for adult patients.
  • Completes Release of Information accurately and completely.
  • Attends all scheduled Social Services/Clinical meetings, arriving prepared and in a timely manner.
  • Will attend scheduled weekly supervision meetings (individual, triadic, or group) and follow CA BBS Clinical Supervision Guidelines.
  • Will communicate regularly with Social Services leadership regarding any questions, challenges, or clinical training needs as they arise, as well as individual professional development and learning objectives.
  • Comply with HIPAA and LPS guidelines.
  • Maintains effective working and professional relationships and communications with internal and external partners.
  • Consistently carries out outlined job responsibilities while maintaining appropriate boundaries and professional demeanor.
  • Performs related duties, as requested.
  • Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards.
