Associate Industrial Engineer
About The Position
Would you love helping influence senior leaders with data-driven analytics in the morning, and work on a system-optimization project in one of the Disney Parks & Resorts in the afternoon? As an Associate Industrial Engineer at Disney, you would help translate ideas into tangible innovation opportunities that focus on operations improvement. Working on a diverse set of projects, you would flex your analytical, process and system optimization skills in service of a key goal: to make a happier, more seamless experience for our Guests, at every stage of their visit. Join our IE team! This is a Full Time position. You will report to the Manager, Industrial Engineering. What You Will Do You’d join a diverse, networked team that collaborates on initiatives to drive Disney’s Parks & Resorts business to the next level. We use creativity and in-depth analytics to develop strategies and implement solutions that can directly impact the happiness of our Guests. Every single day as an Associate Industrial Engineer is different! On any one day you might: Strategize with multiple departments to find the next productivity boost; Develop analytics to identify areas for improvement and change; Engage in a brainstorming session about simulation, forecasting, and optimization; Formulate plans with other engineers for future operational development; Present to operational leadership to help influence change; Develop relationships within Disney through cross-team collaborations; Gain leadership development and rotate between client groups; Attend seminars on professional and personal development; Research and benchmark topics relevant to your project scope; Lead or support others with a field study; Spend time in the Parks to observe operations, and gain process insights; and Grab lunch with the team or hop on an attraction at a Disney park!
Requirements
- 0-2+ years of applied experience
- Project management skills, with an emphasis on communication and building strategic relationships
- A knack for consulting and making quality/process improvements
- A confident presentation style with the ability to lead key stakeholders
- Exposure to capacity/demand analysis and modeling techniques
- Knowledge of conducting field studies/data collection efforts
- Confidence with spreadsheets, databases, and statistical/graphic software
- Resiliency – you’re up for the challenge of continuous improvement and work through hurdles
- Creativity to approach problems in new, innovative ways
- The ability to successfully juggle multiple tasks at once, especially in dynamic environments
- A flexible schedule - you’re able to meet project milestones
- The ability to think outside the box, providing ideas on how to do things differently.
