About The Position

Ellsworth Adhesives specs in materials used in everyday products like cell phones, spaceships, and electric vehicles. Ellsworth Corporation, a global leader in specialty chemicals, equipment distribution, and adhesive manufacturing, is seeking an Associate Industrial Automation Engineer. This role, reporting to Ellsworth Dispensing Solutions (EDS), an Ellsworth Corporation company, is based in Sparks, NV, and is an on-site position requiring daily commute. EDS is a knowledge leader in dispensing solutions for manufacturing parts. The role involves maintaining software for industrial equipment control, designing, developing, and installing electronic control systems for dispensing equipment, referencing existing documentation, and developing drawings and specifications for new and existing design projects. The engineer will also assist with the design of mechanical systems and/or machinery using design and ERP software.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college in Engineering or relevant field. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered as equivalent.
  • Good problem solving and analytic skills (i.e., can conduct root cause analysis, make recommendations, and track results).
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to update and document manufacturing process, inspection, and testing procedures.
  • Capability to communicate and train shop floor team members on processing information.
  • Basic knowledge of automation and electronics components and electronic assemblies.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to lift 25 Pounds, on occasion up to 50 Pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in SolidWorks (i.e. CSWA, CSWP, CSWE, CPPA, etc ) and/or Engineering in Training (EIT), preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains software to control industrial equipment.
  • Designs, develops, and installs electronic control systems for dispensing equipment referencing existing documentation.
  • Develops drawings and specifications for existing and new design projects.
  • Assists with design of mechanical systems and/or machinery utilizing design and ERP software.
  • Modifies existing programs in C++, Java, CodeSYS, etc.
  • Navigates, configures, and troubleshoots Linux systems.
  • Optimizes and adapts electronic control systems and instruments to automate and monitor industrial processes.
  • Assists with developing technical designs, process diagrams, SCADA block diagrams, and control schematics to implement automation controls.
  • Configures existing systems using PLC and HMI techniques.
  • Models, tests, and measures output and data to analyze performance or quality issues and develop solutions.
  • Creates, reviews, and processes Engineering Change Requests (ECR).
  • Updates documentation including drawings, models, bill of materials, quotes, and engineering summaries utilizing CAD Systems and ERP software.
