About The Position

This role involves providing day-to-day data center operational support, including escorting and coordinating with field engineers, managing parts inventory, maintaining documentation, and coordinating with colocation teams for facility maintenance. The specialist will execute customer-directed system and version updates, proactively monitor servers, and open/manage service requests. They will perform troubleshooting, log collection, and follow vendor-recommended resolutions, including supporting firmware upgrades and hardware break/fix activities. The role also includes handling parts replacement, hardware deployment, OS installation, GPU configuration, system testing, and validation. The specialist will serve as a flexible escalation and coordination point for random or urgent issues.

Requirements

  • Strong Customer communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well within an onsite team in a dynamic environment
  • Must be a US Citizen or have a Green Card
  • Comfortable on the HW repair side, providing OSE/FSE support, experienced having hands inside the server, replacing parts
  • Sufficient experience to be confident in skills and add new skills as needed
  • Basic Network experience
  • Experience reading Linux logs
  • Linux cli experience

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Dell FSE experience a plus
  • RoCE network experience
  • Nvidia GPU/NIC experience is a plus

  • Maintain and update environment documentation (serial numbers, elevations, runbooks, etc.)
  • Coordinate with colocation teams for power, cooling, and facility maintenance activities
  • Execute customer-directed system and version updates
  • Proactively monitor servers and notify customers of issues
  • Open and manage service requests; triage and coordinate break/fix activities with Dell support
  • Perform troubleshooting, log collection, and follow vendor-recommended resolutions
  • Support firmware upgrades and hardware break/fix activities
  • Handle parts replacement and hardware deployment
  • Perform OS installation, GPU configuration, and any testing
  • Conduct system testing and validation to ensure operational readiness
  • Handle random or urgent issues as they arise, serving as flexible escalation and coordination point.
