Corporate Banking Credit Solutions focuses on late-stage companies within SVB’s portfolio of businesses. Primary responsibilities will include underwriting / executing debt transactions and portfolio management. The ideal candidate will be able to take on increasing deal execution responsibilities while assisting senior deal team members in all aspects of the deal process. The team provides creative late stage and leveraged capital solutions to Corporate Banking clients in the technology sector.

Requirements

  • Highly proficient at researching information and gathering pertinent items to identify trends / anomalies.
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting with financial modeling experience.
  • Strong organization and attention to details ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Excellent communication skills capable of explaining information in a clear and concise manner and adapting delivery depending on the audience and influencing decisions in the best interest of the client.
  • Professional, thorough, and organized with strong follow-up skills.
  • Excels in a team environment and proactively collaborates and acts as a leader with others to serve clients.

  • A minimum of 1 year of leveraged finance, investment banking, or commercial banking/finance or High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 5 years of leveraged finance, investment banking, or commercial banking/finance role.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ or more years’ experience in either a leveraged finance, investment banking, or commercial banking/finance role.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
  • Formal credit training program preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate and leveraged transaction processes from new opportunity introduction to loan closing with VP guidance.
  • Review target company provided/publicly available materials, including historical financials, management presentations, CIMs, and 3rd party materials.
  • Assist with generating diligence request lists to cover questions arising from review of materials while identifying gaps in provided information.
  • Create credit memorandums to drive credit approval for new opportunities.
  • Prepare financial models accurately based off of company projections.
  • Prepare loan packages for approvals, including utilization of existing bank systems.
  • Assist in document negotiation.
  • Utilize analysis and independent judgment to generate recommendations to Directors/MDs.
  • Assist coordination/execution with Syndications and Relationship Management partners.
  • Oversee the loan closing process.
  • Act as lending liaison for portfolio companies with guidance from VP.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting from portfolio companies.
  • Assist any amendment/M&A processes for portfolio companies.
  • Research and analyze information as directed.
  • Oversee portfolio database as well as quarter portfolio review/analysis.
  • Coordinate with RM partners to develop materials required to evaluate, pitch and execute debt opportunities.
  • Participate on diligence calls with prospects and portfolio companies. Takes notes on material updates and opportunities.
  • Mentor and train ADP.
