About The Position

This role writes, edits, and supports editorial planning for year-round programming at SfN. The Associate coordinates with external content contributors and internal stakeholder teams to plan, create, schedule, launch and promote mission-critical content on SfN websites and across social media channels. This is an entry-level position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, communications, digital storytelling or related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with AP style.
  • Experience writing and editing for digital audiences, as well as adhering to style guides.
  • Experience in planning, managing, and developing digital content and web projects.

  • Passion for digital media - especially for mission-driven organizations - and a keen eye for emerging trends and platforms in the digital space.
  • Understanding digital storytelling and ability to use available assets to create compelling user experiences for web and social media.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Photoshop, and experience with web content management systems.
  • Familiarity with SEO, AI technologies and accessibility best-practices.
  • Experience using Google Analytics and analyzing data is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Digital Learning department in planning and production of content for SfN’s year-round programming, including the professional development website Neuronline and select social media channels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and contributors to gather and publish engaging social media and multimedia content to support written resources.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the editorial calendar, ensuring content is timely, relevant, and aligned with organizational priorities.
  • Support the Community Leaders Program, including assisting these volunteers with content development related to high-priority topics and events.
  • Author and work with volunteers to create Neuronline articles, discussions, and event-related resources.
  • Enter and manage content in the content management system (CMS).
  • Contribute as an active team member by supporting cross-functional projects and learning from experienced colleagues.
  • Provide general administrative and project support for digital learning programs.
  • Other duties, as assigned.
