About The Position

NERA is seeking an Associate to join their Human Capital Operations team. This position supports critical employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, payroll coordination, background investigation management, and compliance. The role is ideal for individuals early in their Human Capital careers or experienced professionals looking for a hands-on operational role in a collaborative environment. The position is based in White Plains, NY (preferred) or New York City.

Requirements

BA/BS in related field or equivalent relevant work experience gained through prior human resources, operations, or administrative roles in similarly fast-paced environments
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of the organization
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality
Experience managing multiple priorities with minimal supervision
Proficient in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems

Nice To Haves

Workday experience a plus
Willing to travel as necessary between New York City and White Plains for collaboration

Responsibilities

Coordinate employee on-boarding and off-boarding processes
Manage the end-to-end background investigation process for new hires
Assist in new employee orientations
Maintain I-9 and E-Verify system data
Process weekly payroll for non-exempt employees and respond to payroll-related inquiries
Maintain and audit employee data within HRIS systems to ensure accuracy and compliance
Serve as a resource for employee benefits inquiries
Take ownership of projects, contribute to process improvements, and develop expertise
Ad hoc projects, as needed
