Associate, Global Investment Banking, Project Finance
About The Position
RBC Capital Markets is a division of the Royal Bank of Canada, a global financial services provider. The Global Investment Banking division offers underwriting of equity and debt capital, along with strategic advisory services to corporations, institutions, and governments worldwide. The Project Advisory & Finance (PA&F) team, within Global Investment Banking, collaborates with partners across North America to advise clients in the energy, power, and digital infrastructure sectors. The PA&F team is responsible for originating, structuring, diligencing, and syndicating various debt products, including commercial bank, institutional loan, high-yield, and investment-grade debt. They also provide financial advisory services for large-scale infrastructure projects, covering construction, refinancing, and M&A.
Requirements
- Existing work authorization for the United States and not requiring any form of sponsorship
- Completed a relevant university undergraduate degree and highly desirable to have or be working towards a graduate level program such as CFA, CPA, MBA, MA or MS or equivalent with emphasis in finance or accounting
- Minimum of two years of relevant experience in project finance is highly desired
- Track record of outstanding academic achievement
- A self-starter and strong team player with ability to work well in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills
- Knowledge of general capital markets
- Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills
- High regard for detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work extended hours as required
Responsibilities
- Performing financial modeling and analysis
- Assisting in the preparation of client presentations and deal documents
- Participating in internal and external meetings
- Reviewing due diligence reports and financing documents
- Producing industry and company-specific research and analysis
- Maintaining and updating various sector and/or product focused databases
- Providing general support to the Project Advisory & Finance team
