About The Position

You will be an Investment Banking Associate supporting the Energy Coverage Team based out of our Houston, TX office. You will assist in the execution of M&A and financing transactions, develop new business presentations, and conduct detailed financial analysis. You will work with Analysts in the development of pitch books and related client materials, and coordinate with Industry, Product and other groups to evaluate and execute business opportunities. You will also proactively identify operational risks/ control deficiencies in the business, review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities, and escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA, MA or MS or equivalent with emphasis in finance/accounting/ engineering
  • Minimum of one to two years of Investment Banking experience
  • Previous experience in the Energy space
  • Experience executing M&A deals specifically in relation to financial institutions
  • Ability to lead transaction execution on multiple deals at a time
  • Solid understanding of capital markets
  • Outstanding quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting
  • Advanced financial modeling skills
  • Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities and requests
  • Ability to take initiative and function independently, balanced with strong teaming skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels of organization
  • Must maintain high standards of professional and ethical conduct
  • Series SIE, 79 & 63 licensed
