About The Position

Provides genetic counseling services for all participating entities. Responsibilities include delivering clinical services, supporting education initiatives for healthcare professionals and the community, identifying research opportunities, and contributing to the development of the genetics program. This role reports to the Director of Genetics and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Medical Genetics or a related field
  • Clinical rotations completed as part of an advanced degree program
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified Genetic Counselor through the American Board of Genetic Counseling
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare issues related to genetics, clinical practice and emerging trends, and regulatory and legal compliance standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide patient-centered counseling and education

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality genetic counseling services in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with healthcare professionals and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Provide clinical guidance to patients and providers, including: Syndrome identification, Medical management recommendations, Genetic testing coordination and interpretation, Psychosocial counseling, Multidisciplinary care planning.
  • Identify and recommend research opportunities that enhance patient care delivery and outcomes across the organization.
  • Participate in educational initiatives for healthcare professionals and community audiences.
  • Support program development efforts within the genetics department.
  • Achieve assigned performance goals and objectives.
