About The Position

This position oversees multiple managers and their teams at the assigned Logistic Field Operations location/s. The Associate General Manager, Logistics will assist the General Manager to ensure day-to-day business operations run efficiently and effectively. They will work with the General Manager and other Company leaders to develop site-specific goals and objectives, and ensure alignment and effective execution within the site. This role is responsible for effectively executing new programs, initiatives, and strategies to optimize network operations through prioritization, work planning, resource allocation, and cross-functional collaboration. The Associate General Manager will gather pertinent business, financial, service, and operations information, and prepare periodic reports and presentations to business leaders. They will monitor adherence to systems, policies, procedures, performance standards, and regulatory requirements, and take appropriate action to ensure compliance. This role also involves coordinating with cross-functional teams for proper planning, scheduling and asset management, and providing mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through coaching, leadership development and training, and performance management. Additionally, the Associate General Manager will assist in the selection of highly qualified candidates, orientation, and training of employees, and evaluate and identify key productivity indicators, trends and options, as well as implement process improvement initiatives and choose appropriate courses of action. The role ensures efficient and economical performance in accordance with strategic plans, goals, objectives, and operating budgets, and proactively communicates information to direct reports, providing clear understanding of expectations, performance measures, and goals.

Requirements

  • 2 years of actual people leadership experience and 4 years of logistics or supply chain experience OR Bachelor's Degree in related fields.
  • Demonstrable experience leading or developing people (in either formal or informal roles), including managing CDL drivers.
  • Transportation experience, which may include driving a vehicle transporter or tractor trailer, or equivalent Military experience preferred.
