About The Position

This job supports counsel leadership and other in-house attorneys and assists company management by providing legal advice and counsel on legal, risk, healthcare, and regulatory matters. Requirements

  • Juris doctorate.
  • 7 years of legal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department including experience in drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts.
  • Current admission to practice law in state of practice.
  • In depth knowledge of healthcare law and risk management principles.
  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to be a motivated self-starter and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment within a team.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to demonstrate a high level of integrity.
  • Ability to be flexible with varied assignments and willing to develop new areas of expertise.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with or for an integrated healthcare delivery system.
  • Experience in litigation management and professional liability.

Responsibilities

  • Provides legal advice and counsel on a variety of healthcare and regulatory matters.
  • Provides support to and gets work assignments from senior attorneys.
  • Drafts, reviews, and negotiates contracts of all types.
  • Develops and reviews policies and provides educational programs to clients on healthcare and regulatory matters.
  • Identifies and investigates risk issues.
  • Evaluates and negotiates claims.
  • Interacts with and directs outside counsel, consultants, and administrative staff.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
  • Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.
