About The Position

The Associate General Counsel Sr. is responsible for providing legal advice on enterprise-wide technology and international operations matters and will effectively assist and advise on the development, use and sale of digital health technology products and services and international healthcare operations services. This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Willing to consider locations other than those listed. Requirements

  • Requires a JD, current license to practice law and minimum of 15 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure including experience in managing outside counsel; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Nice To Haves

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Experience at a complex, highly matrixed and regulated company is preferred.
  • Experience advising on technology products and service delivery and/or health care operations services in a technology or health care company.
  • Experience advising international subsidiaries of a US company regarding the delivery of services to its affiliates and other US-based companies aligning to both international and US law and company policies and procedures.
  • Deep understanding of relevant laws and regulations, with demonstrated ability to stay up to date with industry standards related to technology solutions including AI.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the Technology & International Legal team.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on digital health technology law topics such as AI, SaaS, BPaaS, software as a medical device, technology product development lifecycle, and data use advising business stakeholders and coordinating with lines of business attorneys.
  • Collaborate across the enterprise to provide legal support for the technology product development lifecycle and establish relationships with key stakeholders, such as product, strategy, sales, marketing and communications, privacy, compliance, the Responsible AI team, information security, risk management and litigation to ensure coordinated and appropriate processes exist to support business strategy while mitigating risk.
  • Provide legal support for international teams providing technology development and services and healthcare operations services to US healthcare system clients.
  • Assess legal risk.
  • Advise clients on legal risks and actively propose risk mitigation options.
  • Implement risk mitigation options in collaboration with cross-functional teams of stakeholders.
  • Partner with the Public Affairs and Compliance teams to identify and interpret evolving regulations impacting business, provide strategic legal analysis and advise regarding gap assessments and mitigating controls.
  • Provide ongoing internal education and training on legal issues.
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives and provide guidance to non-attorneys and attorneys.
  • Collaborate with and supervise outside counsel as appropriate.
  • Work as a strategic partner and decision maker with more senior leaders and manage work independently.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues with a willingness to adapt to changing legal support needs of rapidly growing business.
