The TD Asset Management Fundamental Equities team is a performance-oriented group managing long-only Canadian, US, International and global equity portfolios for institutional, high net worth and retail clients. The team follows a disciplined investment process combining fundamental due diligence and detailed empirical/quantitative research and risk management to produce superior investment results. An opportunity exists for an Associate to join the team, reporting to a Co-Lead of the Fundamental Equities Research team. The Associate will work directly with the investment team, collaborating with fundamental and quantitative analysts to support decision making by portfolio managers.

Requirements

A passion towards public equity markets, supported by a personal and/or professional track record of investment research, market engagement, or portfolio involvement.
Ability to work independently with no supervision towards clear objectives with ambiguous waypoints.
Exceptional analytical and modeling capabilities, underpinned by intellectual curiosity and a passion for uncovering investment insights.
Ability to work under pressure on time-sensitive and sometimes unpredictable developments.
Comfortable managing relationships and prioritizing demanding workloads with numerous portfolio manager stakeholders.
Ability to distill and convey complex financial and fundamental information to a generalist audience.
2-8 years of experience in capital markets.

Nice To Haves

Undergraduate/Graduate degree in Engineering/Finance/Mathematics/Economics/Accounting/MBA or related fields is preferred.
CFA designation or working towards a CFA designation.

Responsibilities

Conducting in-depth financial analysis on companies and industries to identify investment opportunities suitable for TDAM portfolios.
Developing and presenting investment ideas through written reports and presentations to investment and client-facing teams.
Owning a sector by maintaining thorough and consistent research coverage, including proposing new investment ideas and recommending portfolio exits.
Building and maintaining relationships with company management and industry counterparties to strengthen research insights and support investment decision-making.
Attending industry conferences and seminars to gather insights and stay current on market trends.
