Associate Full Stack Developer

About The Position

OneSource Virtual (OSV) is seeking an Associate Full Stack Developer to join their product engineering team. This is an entry-level role for recent college graduates who are eager to grow quickly in a high-velocity, AI-assisted development environment. The role involves working across the full stack, including C#/.NET services, React UI, and SQL, on platforms that process over $200 billion in compliant payroll and tax payments annually. The ideal candidate is technically curious, comfortable using AI tools in their daily development workflow, and eager to be coached toward independent, high-quality delivery. The emphasis is on fast learning, asking good questions, and caring about work quality, rather than knowing everything upfront.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Demonstrated understanding of object-oriented programming principles
  • Working knowledge of C# or another strongly-typed OOP language (C#/.NET is our stack)
  • Basic SQL skills — able to write queries, understand joins, and reason about data
  • Foundational understanding of web services and client-server architecture (REST/SOAP/JSON)
  • Proven track record of excellence in coursework or projects — strong GPA and/or demonstrable output
  • Genuine passion for technology and visible curiosity about learning new tools and platforms
  • Has used an AI coding assistant (Windsurf, Claude Code, Cursor, or similar) in coursework, personal projects, or an internship — not required to be expert-level, but must have real hands-on exposure
  • Understands the basics of prompting for code generation and the importance of reviewing AI output before using it

Nice To Haves

  • React or front-end JavaScript framework experience (coursework or personal projects count)
  • Experience with Git and version control in a team environment
  • Exposure to agile/scrum practices
  • Internship or co-op experience in a software development role
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) or cloud-deployed applications
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or Workday is a plus but not expected at this level

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain features across the full stack: C#/.NET backend services, React front-end components, and SQL data access layers
  • Write clean, unit-tested code with a low defect rate and accept feedback constructively to improve quality over time
  • Execute assigned user stories with light supervision, asking clear questions early to avoid rework
  • Participate actively in sprint ceremonies — standups, backlog grooming, story breakdown, and retrospectives
  • Learn and apply OSV’s coding standards, architectural patterns, and CI/CD practices
  • Fix defects as they arise throughout the development cycle
  • Use AI coding tools (such as Claude, Windsurf, or Cursor) as a standard part of your daily development workflow — not as a shortcut, but as a tool to produce better code faster
  • Apply AI assistance for code generation, debugging, test writing, and understanding unfamiliar codebases
  • Follow team standards for reviewing and validating AI-generated code before committing
  • Remain open to adopting new AI tooling as the team’s practices evolve
  • Communicate proactively with your team lead, scrum master, and product owner — including flagging when work will be delayed
  • Collaborate with QA to support testing and defect resolution
  • Develop an understanding of OSV’s business and how your work impacts customers

Benefits

  • Upward mobility
  • Professional development
